The Colorado Young Farmers Educational Association is
proud to announce the cash awards for the top five contestants in the
Spokesperson for Agriculture Contest.
The
Mountain Plains Farm
Credit Services sponsors the contest at the State Institute each year.
The monetary awards will be as follows:
First place -
$200
Second place - $ 100
Third, fourth and fifth place will each receive
$50.
Other sponsors for the Colorado Spokesperson for Agriculture Contest are the
Colorado Wheat Administrative Committee who provides funds to send the
Colorado winner to compete in the national contest each year. In addition,
Pioneer Hi-Bred
assists in providing funding for coordinating the Colorado Spokesperson
program as well as sponsoring the green jacket for the Colorado winner.
Special thanks go to Jacqueline Larson, Gill, Colorado
for serving as the Colorado Spokesperson for Agriculture Coordinator.
Jackie organizes the contest held at the State Institute each year.
She then assists the Colorado Spokesperson for Agriculture in making
appearances with the media, giving speeches to groups across the state, and
making preparations to compete in the National Contest each December.
The winner of the Colorado contest then compete in the
new NYFEA Ag Communications Contest sponsored by John Deere. The
Colorado winner receives an all expense paid trip to the NYFEA Winter
Institute to go through a training course for the Ag Communications Contest.
